Java/J2EE Junior Software Engineer
The primary mission of the Software Engineer will be to create e-payment products for Govolution's flagship application suite, Velocity. Strong J2EE hands-on coding is needed to join our creative and talented team.
Primary Responsibilities
- Hands-on coding within a J2EE environment
- Familiarity with using UML and other design tools
- Interface with clients, vendors and internal business units to engineer solutions
- Work with business analysts to capture customer requirements
- Analyze technical issues and enumerate solution options
Key Skills
- Java and J2EE design and development

- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Ability to work effectively both autonomously and as a team player
Desired Skills
- Experience with Web Services/SOAP, JDBC and JTA
- XML Experience with WebLogic Server and JBoss

- Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Visio, Word, and Excel
- Proficiency with Eclipse IDE
- Understanding of eCommerce relationships and concepts
Education and Experience
- BA/BS in Computer Science or related 4+ years as a software developer
- Sun Certified Programmer
Technical Software Analyst
Provide software support to all Govolution clients on a full-time basis. Key responsibilities include: issue identification and resolution, as well as client staging and production deployment of Govolution’s Velocity Payment System clients. (Must have knowledge of HTML, Linux and SQL Database queries)
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide guidance and direction over the telephone to users having difficulties obtaining the desired service
- Provide product technical support assistance to users with questions about Govolution products or services
- Log pertinent customer communication and respond to email or phone inquiries in a timely manner consistent with Govolution service level agreement
- Perform troubleshooting steps to further diagnose and resolve customer problems
- Escalate issues to necessary personnel as necessary
- Research and gather information helpful to a person who may assist in resolving a problem
- Communicate with affected users concerning cause and progression of scheduled and non-scheduled service down time
- Provide QA implementation support activities for Client Services Team

Education and Experience
- BA/BS degree with 0 to 2 years of experience, or equivalent for Junior Technical Software Analyst position
- BA/BS degree with 4 to 6 years of experience, or equivalent for Senior Technical Software Analyst position
- Demonstrated ability in professional business communications
